First, I’m going to have two presentations this year. One will be the “PHP Starter Day” which I already did in Amsterdam this spring. This one-day session is intended for ambitioned PHP beginners who want to get a firm grasp of all the exciting concepts PHP5 has to offer. The other session focuses on a retrospect of the year 2005, security-wise. Since the last 11 months were a pretty tough ride for PHP security, in the core, PEAR and of course applications, this promises to become entertaining. I have thought up a new approach for the presentation and I hope the audience will like it.
Second, the Hardened PHP project will be on the conference with our very own booth, as my teammate Stefan Esser blogged already. We will show off the feature set of the Hardening Patch for PHP, and be available for security discussions and the occasional beer in the hotel lobby.
We will also be showing off some new items that are bound to change the domestic PHP security landscape.
Third, I will be taking part in the “PHP Lounge”, an event described as a place “where attendees can hack with other conference attendees, talk about current projects, and discuss and solve their development problems in a relaxed atmosphere. To ensure that all queries are answered satisfactorily, we will have coaches stationed in the PHP Lounge. There will be free beer, music and of course sockets for the laptops.” I like that beer part, and therefore I’ll be available as a coach in the Lounge, probably specializing in security-related questions.
All in all, it’s gonna be a blast, I hope.
I am off to Frankfurt for the International PHP Conference 2005 where I’ll be giving a full-day tutorial on PHPUnit tomorrow and a presentation on Propel on Wednesday. Together with Aaron, Christopher, Derick, Ilia, and Zak I will be a coach for the "P
